Take a historical ride aboard the world famous Maid of the Mist. Since 1846, millions of visitors have enjoyed the Maid of the Mist boat tours. The powerful diesel-engined boats take visitors to the base of the American Falls and then on to the basin of the magnificent Canadian Horseshoe Falls. Water rushes all around as you "soak" in the excitement and feel the thunder of the Falls. It's a half hour thrill of a lifetime! Reusable, souvenir rain coats are provided with admission.

The Floral Clock

This unique attraction is a very popular stop on the Niagara Parkway and is photographed almost as often as the Falls! The planted face is maintained by Niagara Parks horticulture staff, while the mechanism is kept in working order by Ontario Hydro, the organization that originally built the clock. The intricate designs on the face of the timepiece are created with up to 16,000 carpet bedding plants. The floral design is changed twice each year - it features viola in the Spring and four cultivars of Alternanthera along with green and grey forms of Santolina Sage during the Summer and Fall. California Golden Privet and Blue Festuca Grass may be used for contrast. The grounds surrounding the clock feature bedding displays and a Tower at the back of the clock houses Westminster chimes that greet each quarter hour. If the door into the Tower is open, you can take a glimpse at the clock mechanism and enjoy photographs that show the history of every face design all the way back to 1950.

Ontario's Niagara Parks was established on May 24th 1888, to preserve and enhance the natural beauty of Niagara Falls, the Niagara Gorge and the Niagara River. Today, the Niagara Parks consists of 3,099 acres stretching 35 miles (56km) along the Niagara River between Fort Erie and Niagara on the Lake. From natural majestic beauty of the Falls of Niagara...to the manicured green lawns and emerald parks...to the excitement of many exhilarating attractions, the Niagara Parks is one of the finest and most stunningly beautiful parks in North America. The jewels in the Niagara Parks system are Queen Victoria Park , Queenston Heights Park, the Niagara Glen and Kings Bridge Park. Cost to enter the park is free.

The Americans acted unilaterally in the development of the New York Reservation State Park at Niagara Falls. The park became reality on April 30th 1885 when signed into law by Governor Hill. The new Reservation State Park would consist of 412 acres including Prospect Park, Goat Island and Bath Island. The cost to create this park was estimated at approximately $1.4 million dollars. The New York Reservation State Park was officially opened to the public on July 15th 1885. Cost to enter the park is free.
